In the incredible private home of the Joye family at ‘Barford’ in Bellevue Hill, 500 guests in jungle-inspired gear gathered under luxurious safari style tents for the 13th Annual Silver Party in support of Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation.
The event, which was held on the 28th of February, was styled by Grandiflora’s Saskia Havekes and the team at Rizer. Together, the ‘Serengeti at Dusk’ theme was perfectly executed and complemented by performances by African drummers, tents under the sky, and our beloved Sydney Harbour backdrop.
Channel Nine’s Karl Stefanovic played host for the night, encouraging attendees to give generously to the cause. Motivated by Karl and the moving story father Alister who spoke of his 12-year-old daughter Tahlia’s experience as a stroke patient, guests donated a combined record $400,000 to the cause.
These funds will support Sydney Children’s Hospital’s new building – a five storey addition that will house a state-of-the-art respiratory facility, child and adolescent mental health unit and a surgical ward among other facilities.
Chefs from The Star, including David Chang, Teage Ezard, Stefano Manfredi, Chase Kojima and Jean Philippe Secondis, offered guests delights such as crispy jumbo tempura prawns, Wagyu beef sliders, spicy seared scallops and pork terrine.
All this was washed down with glasses of Moet & Chandon, and cocktails by Belvedere.
