2015 Chinese Horoscopes: The Year of The Sheep

Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Pinterest

2015 is the year of the Yi Wei/Sheep or Wood Goat in Chinese Astrology.  The energy of the year is made up of Yin Wood sitting on Yin Earth, with 3 hidden elements: Yin Earth, Yin Fire and Yin Wood.   Now that’s a lot of Yin and this indicates a general flow of unseen energy rippling beneath the surface, hidden, secretive, still, silent, brewing, philosophical and watchful.  Yin energy also corresponds to the subconscious mind and meditation, thus making 2015 a very positive year for reconnecting with your spiritual and philosophical values.

Whether or not you choose to envision the New Year as a Goat or Sheep is in reference to the energy that it symbolises in the 12 different animal signs, however there is some cross over. Sometimes the Chinese refer to the Rabbit as the Cat and sometimes the Goat as the Sheep.  It doesn’t matter which label you choose as long as you harness the energy it stands for i.e a particular period of time, whether it’s the hour, day, month or year. There are Chinese animal sign labels for all of these variations of time in an individual’s birth 4 Pillars birth chart.

General themes that are more likely to emerge during the Sheep year are family/community values, the role of the mother/nurturer, security, the arts, creativity, altruism, gambling, sustainability, health-care, organic foods, plant-based energy alternatives, world environmental issues, following rules and regulations and the need for diplomacy, compromise and compassion.

Hot, dry Earth is also a theme to keep a close eye on this year, especially in relation to environmental concerns and potential disturbance in association with Earth (ie conflict in the desert, landslide, dust storm, mining, earthquake, volcanic activity).

Wood and Fire element industries and investments are more likely to do well in 2015.

Wood Industries include academic/scholarly-related pursuits, forestry, carpentry, construction, running a nursery, growing and tending herbs and plants, pharmaceutical applications, growing fruit and vegetables, schools and educational institutions, motivating others, work that encompasses creating, inventing, designing, textiles, publication, journalism, advertising, working with fabrics, animal breeding and veterinary services, newspapers, magazines, timber furniture, clothing industry, floristry and wood craft.

Fire Industries include computer technology, working in the service industry, entertainment, hospitality, energy, electrical engineering, laser, radiation, welding, cooking and food preparation, restaurant industry, electronics, the beauty industry, aviation, petroleum, oil, gas, lighting, solar power, optometrist, the manufacture of ammunition, a profession involving presenting, servicing, performing or entertaining others.

Below you will find a general overview for each Chinese Animal sign according to your year of birth, with recommendations on ways in which to successfully navigate your way through 2015:

Chinese Zodiac Predictions for 2015

Note: when determining your Chinese Animal Sign from your year of birth, the year begins on 4 February according to the solar calendar which is used for astrology & feng shui purposes.  The lunar calendar (which begins on 19 February this year) is used mainly for annual celebrations and festivals linked to the cycles of the moon.

Work on your self-esteem and declutter any emotional or mental blockages in order to make good use of positive social and networking energy throughout the year.

monkey

rooster

Rooster (You) 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005

2015 is an important year for you to get the balance right between time spent at work and time spent with loved ones.  Family takes on greater significance this year and you will need to draw from the support of people you trust and who love and care for you in order to get through some of the challenges this year will bring.

Family can come in many shapes and forms.  For some it’s purely biological, for others, true family is accumulated along the way through lifelong friends who share a special karmic connection with you.

Challenging circumstances are likely to occur early in the year, with increased luck potential accumulating around the middle of the year.

Try to maintain an honest, humble and open approach in relationships.  This year is not the time for playing relationship games or seeking to out-strategize others.  September is likely to stimulate instant attraction during the first half of the month and/or revisiting a past relationship during the second half of the month.

Be wary of litigious energy brewing – carefully check contracts before signing and avoid loaning or investing money you cannot afford to lose.

dog

Dog (Xu) 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006

In order to successfully navigate the energy of 2015, the Dog individual should adopt an armour of optimistic pragmatism with a uniformly calm and rational approach to irritable people and situations that will inevitably crop up throughout the year.  Staying centred is the key to maintaining your positive mojo!

Try to avoid clashing with your partner or boss over issues pushed by your stubbornness more so than by common sense.  Carefully consider your words and actions before responding and maintain a level headed, objective and diplomatic approach with all professional communications.

Be mindful of rules, regulations and the law in general when dealing with superiors at work.   If you play by the rules and are diligent with a strong work ethic, then June/July is likely to attract additional wealth luck to you.

Spend time in the NW sector of your home this year (especially from July until the end of September) to tap into additional scholarly luck.

pig

Boar (Hai) 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007

The key to making the most of the energy in 2015 is to get organised, research, plan and prepare.  There will be opportunities to rise and shine professionally, especially around March and July and you will need to be organised in order to make the best use of opportunity when it strikes.

The 2 biggest causes for stress and problems for you this year are miscommunication and over spending.  2015 is not a year for splurging or investing in risky ventures.  Get your budget organised early in the year – the sooner the better, and be generally conservative with your expenditure all year.

This is a particularly good year for addressing the feng shui of your home and work environment in order to increase your luck potential and protect against unexpected financial setbacks.
