From Versace to Valentino, expert hairstylists Snowden Hill and John Vial are geniuses when it comes to runway hair – and they show us their top trends and how we can get the look at home!
FROM RUNWAY TO REALITY:
1. BRAIDS, GRECIAN UPDOS at VALENTINO
Get the Look:
Put in lots of volume into hair with Fudge Root Juice and rough dry.
Half up, half down, braid side of hair and loosely pin up and work around hair until it reaches nape of neck.
Pull out wisps of hair to make it look more dishevelled.
If braids are too tricky for you, loosely twist hair strands and pin up working your way around the hairline.
2. LONG HAIR WORN DOWN at VERSACE
Long hair worn down is to be dead straight. Poker ironed straight. Or long hair is given big, big volume!
Get the Look:
Towel dry hair and use Fudge Root Juice.
Flip head and dry upside down shaking hair occasionally for natural volume.
Flip back.
Tease all over and smooth hair.
Use GHD iron to curl bottom ends.
Tease up ends and spray with Skyscraper hairspray or Anti-Frizz Deconstruction Spray (out in September).
Add false eyelashes.
3. PONYTAILS are also poker straight. Pull hair back along the brow bone, just below the occipital bone. Use elastic to wind around hair to make it stick out more.
4. SHORT HAIR is more punky and stick to block colours. Think monochrome or neon/bright colour like Rihanna. 80s hair is very much still in.
5. THE KNOT
Get The Look:
Towel dry hair.
Add Fudge Root Juice.
Tip head upside down and shake hair for volume while blow-drying.
Flip head back and pull sides tight to back and twist hair into a French Roll.
Use U-pins as they’re sturdy and long to pin up.
Tease the top of the head and smooth down into a quiff.
Dolce & Gabbana did this as the Sophia Loren version but spritzed water on this finished look before models went down the runway.
(PHOTOS are Snowden creating this look on stage. The girl is his Brazilian assistant, Natalia. She swears that sleeping in it gives it even a better look the next day!)

Sarah Jessica-Parker. When she wore an out-there tartan McQueen number at The Met Ball. She wore a huge big puffball on the top of the hair, away from her face and it worked perfectly with the outfit.
Get The Look:
Tip head upside down, pull pony on very top of crown. Backcomb hair and spray.
Whip it into a big messy bun.
So achievable to do at home!
