5 Tips To Help You Stay On Track With Fitness This Winter

Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Pinterest

It is so hard to keep your fitness regime going when its cold and all you would really love to do is curl up on the couch and watch tv. But the most important thing to remember is summer bodies are made in winter. Co-Founder of ZADI Training, Adala Bolto shares her 5 tips on how you can stay on track this cold season and keep your fitness goals going.

Daily reminders

You may or may not know about one of the best apps on your iphone, ‘reminders app’. This app is essentially a checklist of things to do, all you need to do is open the app, add your reminder, add in details and time then click done once it is completed. Adding a reminder that sets off every morning at say 7am, ‘workout and stay positive’….

Workout with a bestie

How many times has your alarm gone off in the morning to go to your workout class and you snooze the alarm, one or ten times? Don’t worry, we all do it, but working out with a friend will make you less inclined to do this. Believe it or not but you will learn to hold each other accountable, as you are less likely to cancel plans when someone is counting on you for a lift! Your workout will start to become more fun and may even bring out the competitive side of you, which also means you will burn more calories, so it’s a win, win really.

Find a workout you love

Finding a workout you love is vital in staying on track during Winter. Whether it be a morning walk, or a yoga class, finding something you love will make you more inclined to keep it up.

Distract yourself ‘podcast’ music

Let’s face it, for a lot of us, the thought of exercising can be a very grueling process, but it doesn’t have to be. Studies have shown that distracting yourself when running, like listening to music or a great podcast will make you enjoy your workout more. However, because everyone has a different ideal workout pace, finding the write tempo music or a decent podcast will help with the duration of your workout.

Meal prep

Meal prepping is a great way to stay on track during the colder months. Taking some time to cook up some healthy meals to either freeze or just keep in your fridge will make you less likely to binge on the nasties that you shouldn’t. A good way to do this is to set aside a few hours on a Sunday to pre cook some veggies to add to your lunches during the week.
