The home pregnancy test has long been associated with a sea of confusion – one line, two lines, faint lines, no lines – if the stress and anxiety over the result is not enough to contend with, women are often left more confused following a home test. Now, thanks to a new innovative digital test available from Clearblue, things are finally about to be made clear.

With the Clearblue Digital Pregnancy Test with Conception Indicator, women will not only be provided with a clear, easy to read result. In addition, those with a positive test will obtain – for the first time in home pregnancy tests – an estimate of when they conceived as well.
If the test is positive, ‘Pregnant’ will be indicated in words on the display, along with the Conception Indicator result. This is displayed as an estimate of how many weeks have occurred since conception: 1-2 weeks, 2-3 weeks or 3+ weeks. If the result is negative, the user will see a ‘Not Pregnant’ reading only on the screen. So faint lines and hard to understand crosses will soon be a fading memory of now obsolete technology.
How does it work?
The results of Clearblue’s conception and pregnancy study showed 89 per cent of women would find it useful to learn how many weeks along they are, at the same time they discover they are pregnant. Many women are unsure of the date of their last period and can use this information to help predict when they conceived, as well as where they are in their pregnancy – helping them plan everything from medical appointments to breaking the news.
The Clearblue Digital Pregnancy Test with Conception Indicator works by detecting and measuring the pregnancy hormone hCG. This provides not only an indication of whether or not a women is pregnant (over 99% accurate), but also, due to the concentration of the hormone, how many weeks it has been since conception (92% accurate).
This fantastic use of technology to address female need will no doubt be met with open arms, and the test will be available in pharmacies from mid September.
