There was plenty of vintage romance at Alberta Ferretti, the collection had a distinct 20s flapper theme with fanciful beading, fringing, divided panels and plenty of movement.
Although the colour palette was muted with ivory, dusky satins, taupes and sparkling soft hues, there was power and texture in the romance created by using chunkier chain-mail beading, fur stoles and patterned ankle boots in colours that perfectly matching each design.
The Alberta Ferretti women is romantic yet realistic, whimsical and captivating, yet serious and knows how to work the demure but sexy look to perfection. We were already imagining Sarah Murdoch working the beaded neckline satin numbers before Alberta made her appearance.
