Romance was in the air at Fendi, where Karl Lagerfeld sent soft, feminine and delicate layered creations down the runway in nude and champagne coloured chiffon and lace.
There was an element of girly innocence with night gown styled long jackets, fragile lace dresses and shirts on display, yet all were combined and balanced with an element of womanly sex kitten knowingness, as models teetered down the runway in towering ‘sweet dominatrix’ platforms, laced and strapped to their ankles and blouses that billowed to reveal flesh and delicate peek-a-boo bras.
Draped skirts, jackets and dresses in nudes, muted pastels and crisp white created a feeling of luxury. The use of tulle, lace, pleats and clever draping further enhanced this feel.
The Fendi woman of Spring 2010 may flash her lingerie and invite the imagination, but she holds her cards close to her chest and knows better than to completely expose herself.
