Adele has been receiving Chanel handbags from none other then Karl Lagerfeld and Richard Branson, Natalie Imbruglia & ksubi release limited edition mobile covers with Virgin Mobile to raise awareness of youth homelessness.
Lagerfeld seems to be regretting is comments (or realised Adele’s star wattage) as according to the UK’s Daily Mail, Lagerfeld has been showering the singer with Chanel handbags in an attempt to make nice after calling her “a little too fat” in an interview.
Adele might be gracing the airwaves sooner then we thought- having had most of the female population in despair when she announced she was going to have five years off, we may not have to wait as long as we thought.
She told French radio station NRJ she’d most likely have a new song out “at the end of the year,” sparking rumours she’s recorded the theme song for the next installment of the James Bond series, Skyfall.
Although fans will have to wait a little longer before a follow up to smash hit album 21.”I have to write another record. If I didn’t write my own songs, I’d be out next week with a new album. But because I write my own songs I have to take time, and live a little bit.”
Adele isn’t worried about matching the success of 21, either.
“You know, I never, ever expected the success of my first album, either, let alone how many records this one’s sold, so I don’t think I’ll ever feel the pressure for my next record to be as big as the last one, because I know it’s not really possible, and what happened with this one is very rare anyway.”
Entrepreneur and Virgin Group founder, Sir Richard Branson, singer/songwriter, Natalie Imbruglia, one of Australia’s most recognised fashion labels, ksubi and Oasis have joined forces with Virgin Mobile to produce a range of limited edition mobile phone covers as part of Virgin Mobile’s Covers for a Cause initiative.
This year, Covers for a Cause will raise money and awareness for Oasis Youth Support Network Sydney, The Salvation Army’s response to youth homelessness.
Commenting on the initiative, Sir Richard Branson says, “Virgin Mobile’s Covers for a Cause reminds us all that the young people who find their way to Oasis are homeless, not helpless. If we make enough noise we can shine a light on this important issue and help put an end to youth homelessness. That’s my dream.”
