Alex Perry, Australia’s red carpet king and Rescu. resident Glamour Expert, has launched a seductive collection of designer frames for Specsavers, his second range for the optical retailer.

Consisting of 10 styles, Alex wanted to offer his fans a great quality product that looks beautiful and has a fashion slant, citing Victorian romanticism and Oriental exoticism as his influences.
“This new collection is sexy, dramatic and powerful. For this second range I wanted to add a sense of mystery to the range. Much like my dresses, these frames showcase the decadent side of fashion, adding something fresh and diverse to the ‘Alex Perry 2012 Collection’”, the designer said.
The collection was presented at the Marble Bar, underground the Hilton Hotel in Sydney’s CBD. With its baroque furniture, gilded mirrors and namesake material on every surface, the setting matched the opulence of the designer glasses.
Guests, including Sarah Murdoch and Megan Gale, were treated to a parade of models in Alex Perry couture confections sporting the new optical collection. Kelsey Martinovich, an Australia’s Next Top Model alumnus, was stunning in her mulberry frames and embroidered bodice gown.
The fun continued with a photo booth, where guests were snapped wearing the glasses and then given a Polaroid picture as a keepsake.
Alex said he has been wearing prescription glasses since he was a child and struggled to find frames that were both stylish and affordable.
“This eyewear range again offers an inexpensive, yet glamorous, option for women who want to feel elegant and empowered”, the ANTM judge offered.
At only $199 for two pairs, it’s a purse-friendly way to inject some Alex Perry flair into any wardrobe.
In a dramatic colour palette of burgundy, black, grey, navy and spicy purple, the styles feature embellished arms and decorative details. A limited edition ruby red pair is a striking addition to the darkly romantic collection.
From the 1st of March, the ‘Alex Perry 2012 Collection’ will be available exclusively at Specsavers stores Australia-wide.
