She’s supposed to be fashion’s new It Girl – and has been on the cover of British Vogue to prove it – but Alexa Chung fails to see her own style as particularly ground-breaking.
She calls herself a “cookie-cutter hipster” in an interview with Refinery29, and says that she “feels bad” that anybody calls her revolutionary when, realistically, “everybody in Williamsburg and East London has this”.
There have been questions about Chung’s fashion cred in the past, though not from the model and DJ herself.
When she made the aforementioned British Vogue cover, which ran with the line ‘What Is It About Alexa Chung’, fashion commentators repeated the joke, “Yes, what is it? Because nobody’s told us yet.”
She is, however, a favourite Chanel muse, frequently DJing parties at Fashion Weeks and attending the Met Ball in high-fashion creations.
So perhaps she’s not all that cookie-cutter after all.

Top Model Use Of Fur “Inappropriate”
Anna Wintour is famously pro-fur, but others in the fashion industry are notably less so.
The ‘Najavo’ episode of Australia’s Next Top Model, which featured contestants draped in fur, has caused some very ruffled feathers.
One notable example is the judge Charlotte Dawson, who said she wasn’t told that the contestants would be using fur, and was outraged about it.
And now Ruby Rose has stepped in with a full-blown naked-photograph campaign to draw awareness to the fur issue.
“They could have easily used faux fur,” the model and activist said, adding that it was “unacceptable in this day and age”.
The network issued a statement saying that it was “vintage” fur.

Lara Stone “Lost Her Memory” Through Pot-Smoking
Dutch model of the moment Lara Stone, who models for Calvin Klein amongst others, has said in a new interview that she spent her youth smoking so much pot that she has very poor memory.
Ranked number one in the world by models.com, Stone said that when she was living in Holland she spent a lot of time smoking, and as a result doesn’t remember much.
She also said that the famous Amsterdam red-light district was well-policed, and that the women “get more bloody benefits than I do”.
Stone has also gone on record about her struggle with alcohol, and has previously spent time in rehab.
Her time as the world’s top model came after she went clean.
