Fresh from an excursion to Jaipur, anu designer Anita Ben extrapolates on the loose fabrics and signature prints that are her calling-card to create a strong vision of an urban woman in touch with her ancient heritage.
Arresting prints in fine silk georgettes energise Ben’s soft tailoring and detail is added through sequins and hand-sewn thread needlework. The key ‘Bandhini’ print utilises an old Indian twist-and-tie technique whereby craftsmen colour minute pieces of fabric in an traditional tie-dyeing practise.
