This is a huge month astrologically as The Planet Of Tedious Hard Work And Facts You Didn’t Want Shoved Up Your Nose – aka Saturn – finally changes signs. For one thing this give a break to Aries and Librans. For another it now supports Cancerians, Virgos, Capricorns and Pisceans. For Scorpios and Taureans, it has to be said, you are in the direct line of Saturn’s fire. More in a minute about why this can be a good thing, despite what you have probably read! And if you’re name isn’t on any of those lists, don’t panic. Sometimes it’s better to go unnoticed by Saturn!
Saturn is the planet who is also known as The Lord of Karma. What we reap, we shall sow. He’s the menacing planet who reminds us to be good unless we want coal in our Christmas stocking. He’s the mean head teacher who raps our knuckles. He’s the planet who grimly reminds us that we don’t have forever.
So as you can imagine, he is not the most fun you can have. He’s reality, hard facts and lessons. He’s also the planet who says “Get real”. It’s thanks to Saturn that we learn our lessons and our lives improve. When he’s tough, he’s very, very tough. And when he’s nice? He’s useful.
Saturn, for example, is the planet who commits. That doesn’t sound very exciting but what is a marriage or a business arrangement or a friendship without a bit of commitment. He’s the planet who helps us to stay strong and to see how hard work can lead to security and stability. Again, that doesn’t sound very exciting and in all truth, Saturn is the least barrel of laughs planet of all.
But Saturn is rock solid and he does keep his promises. He is moving into Scorpio this month which means he’s affecting us all in a very different way to the way he’s been affecting us for the past three years. Here’s how…

Wherever Saturn goes, lessons follow. As of now, Saturn is hanging out in your solar work zone offering you the chance to define and build your working life, if you know that you need to. What many of you will need to do in order to bring a new order to their professional lives is to overcome any niggling fear of failure. Saturn can indeed bring fear and if he does, he challenges you to rise above that fear. Are there aspects of your public and professional life which do have you worried? If that’s the case, Saturn’s objective is to remind you that it’s hard work which brings rewards. This is an excellent time to seek the support and counsel of your co-workers, especially those who are older or somehow superior to you. If you can follow the lead of experts now, you will have risen to Saturn’s challenge. This is a year when you realise that you only need to take one step at a time in order to climb the career ladder. And one where you realise that it’s the effort you put into your work which bring the rewards you crave. But don’t be duped into working just to maintain a lifestyle. Though you love the finer things in life – and know that many of these have a high price tag – try and look to your work for professional satisfaction as well as financial rewards.
Being responsible might be a burden, but it’s the best way forward now, so don’t be shy to slave away at work. You will be rewarded for your labours. Eventually. This is a year to sow seeds. And between all this hard work and ‘sowing’, here’s one last thing to attempt in now; no matter how hard you work and no matter how long it takes to reap the rewards you’re chasing, try to enjoy your work as much as you can. If you face the daily grind grimly, the year will drag. Instead, this if this as an investment year which will pay big dividends in years to come, if you can just put your nose to the grindstone.

Look around you – are you surrounded by people you consider winners? Are they supportive? You’d better hope so because Mars in this part of your chart is all about the fact that it’s suddenly extra possible for you to achieve your goals – but only with a little help from your friends.
