Ever feel as though some people are just born with an innate sartorial talent that money just can’t buy? We know we’ve seen it and this month’s edition of The Australian’s WISH Magazine has set out to find and acknowledge these rare men and women who, whether it’s a coffee at the local café or a red carpet appearance, seem to get it right every single time.
The resulting ‘Best Dressed Australians’ list is not the usual conglomeration of fashion editors, bloggers, and models we’d expect to see. Rather, it features comedians, newsreaders, a wine maker and even a restaurateur.
Style is, of course, subjective, so you might be wondering how such a list is compiled. David Meagher, the editor of WISH Magazine, (pictured below) told RESCU, “There is a panel of people who decide on the final list. The panel includes the WISH editorial team, our regular contributors as well as our fashion director Ken Thompson”
Meagher went on to explain that the WISH panel were looking, “for people who have an individual sense of style and who don’t just dress in the latest season’s fashion. We also look for people who might work in a particular industry and who break the mould for what people expect of that profession – Emma Albericic in this year’s list would be an example of that.” The complete list of The Australian’s WISH magazine best dressed includes: Women Vanessa Holden, creative director (pictured above) Emma Alberici, journalist Lisa McGuigan, winemaker Sarah Cottier, art gallery owner Yasmin Sewell, fashion consultant Men Charlie Pickering, host of The Project Liam McKessar, blogger Steve Pavlovic, music promoter Bradley Cocks, travel entrepreneur Lincoln Pilcher, restaurateur and photographer
Charlie Pickering, the host of Ten’s “The Project” and one of WISH magazine’s Best Dressed people for 2012, spoke to WISH about why he likes to dressing up in a suit and tie each night. Watch the clip below!
