Australia’s Next Top Model Launches
Last night, Sydney’s Doltone House Hyde Park was transformed for the launch of the 2013 series of Australia’s Next Top Model. The new host for the show, Jennifer Hawkins, was fresh off the plane from her month-long honeymoon and looking every bit the relaxed newlywed in a sculptural dress by the designer behind her wedding gown; Toni Maticevski.
Hawkins was joined by returning judges Alex Perry and Charlotte Dawson as well as the new addition to the panel, Didier Cohen. Each member of the awesome fashion foursome was in high spirits, joking and laughing together and praising one another’s on-set skills.
During this season, the models lived under Big Brother – esque rules so all the models were banned from mobile phones, TV, and the Internet. Given that we’re talking a house full of girls aged between 17 and 21, this aspect alone is going to make for good viewing!
The 14 finalists were revealed last night and we have to say the competition looks tough. We can’t wait for Australia’s Next Top Model to air on Fox8 on July 9th at 7.30pm – tune in!
Jay-Z’s Album Party
Last night in Brooklyn, Jay-Z launched his new album Magna Carta… Holy Grail with a few of his closest, and most famous, friends including Timbaland, Nick Cannon, J. Cole, and Busta Rhymes.
The rapper appeared on the black carpet in his usual get up of black, white and chains without wife Beyonce, who features on three tracks from the album, as she decided to skip the carpet and head straight to the party inside.
Beyonce isn’t the only famous voice appearing on the album, Justin Timberlake features on the first track (returning the Suit & Tie favour) as well as Frank Ocean.
The album, his 12th studio release, has thus far had only a limited release – only Samsung users who have downloaded a customised app, can download it until July 8 when we’ll all be able to check it out!
Samantha Jade to Play Kylie Minogue
It’s been less than a year since Samantha Jade won The X Factor and already she has scored a role playing one of Australia’s biggest pop icons. Channel Seven has confirmed that Jade will be playing a young Kylie Minogue in the new two-part television drama Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS.
All the female cast members have now been announced including Georgina Haig who will play Paula Yates, and Mallory Jansen who will play Helena Christensen. Each of the ladies will be starring alongside Luke Arnold who has the job of bringing Michael Hutchence to life.
What do you think – will Jade play a good Minogue?
