This week, Rescu. attended a black tie dinner to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Crème de La Mer in Australia at the newly refurbished Rockpool Restaurant at the Rocks in Sydney. The thoroughly chic event was attended by over 60 VIP guests – executives from David Jones and Autore Group including the Founder and CEO and the Head Designer from Autore Group, beauty media and La Mer Brand Ambassadors including Carla Zampatti.
To mark the 10th anniversary of legendary skincare in Australia, La Mer has partnered with Australian luxury pearl and jewellery design brand AUTORE to create a bespoke limited edition collection inspired by the sea.
The highlights:
Exquisite silver spatulas, inspired by swimming dolphins, have been fashioned for the 60ml, 250ml and 500ml crèmes, and feature a unique ocean-inspired jewel that can be removed and worn as a separate piece of jewellery.
Uber-Luxury:
Two 500ml crèmes are accompanied by a gem-encrusted tropical angel fish with bright coloured sapphires, black diamonds and a uniquely matched gold or black South Sea pearl. Each jewel is totally unique, engraved with the brand and edition number, can be worn as a pendant or a brooch and has a little secret – an octopus with black diamond eyes hiding on the back of each piece. 500ml crème: $4200
Lust-Have:
Five 250ml crèmes are presented with a brushed gold angel fish, set with a South Sea pearl selected to match the frame of coloured sapphires. A delicate sapphire eye brings the little fish to life – each one is a limited edition and can be worn as a pendant or a brooch. 250ml crème: $2800

Ten 60ml crèmes come with a delicate diamond studded rose gold turtle featuring a white Australian South Sea pearl. These limited edition charms can also be worn as a pendant. 60ml Crème: $800

I was so excited by the endless design possibilities the ocean presents in terms of creatures, forms and colours. After many different ideas, I eventually settled on the turtle, angel fish and dolphin for their grace, elegant lines and personality.
The main characteristics of my designs featured in this project are the hidden gallery, the colour and the possibility of using the piece in different ways. The multi-functionality allows the design to come to life. For example, in this project I explored the possibility for a part of a precious spatula to be detached and worn as colourful jewellery.”
