Merging 70 years of time-tested craftsmanship, the House of AZATURE is synonymous with the most exquisite jewels in the world. The Los Angeles-based designer’s Black Glove World Tour will hit six cities this summer as he launches his private atelier services and introduces his high-end AZATURE line globally.
Azature was selected as a featured designer in GenArt’s Fresh Faces in Fashion (which has launched the careers of fashion stars like Zac Posen and Peter Som) and was also a semi-finalist for the prestigious Ecco Domani Fashion Fund. In 2009, Azature added AZATURE Atelier, a black-glove, custom jewelry service, to his offerings. The Black Glove Tour will consist of a series of intimate dinners hosted by high-profile clients (from Royalty to Fortune 500 types) that seek the 007 appeal of having a private jeweler make AZATURE custom pieces. These events will be held in Tokyo, Riyadh, Dallas, Hong Kong, Moscow, New York and Los Angeles.
The Sydney event featured a smattering of Sydney’s most fashionable including RESCU’s Glenn Nutley, Joh Bailey and Bahar Etminan. The event was sponsored by Moet and Chandon and Susan Avery created a black forest theme for the evening which was mysterious and glamorous. Azature’s client Sophie Monk, shoe designer Terri Biviano and celebrity chef Matt Moran were on hand to add additional high voltage glamour to the evening. Sydney, the second stop on Azature’s Black Glove world tour was set against the magnificent backgrop of Sydney Harbour at Aria Restaurant and was hosted by our very own Glenn Nutley. Born and raised in Hollywood, Azature was always drawn to proportions, design and aesthetics, but it wasn’t until his early teens that he discovered his propensity for couture. Azature’s intensity in his studies was rivaled only by his creative passion. In high school, he discovered clothes and accessories as an avenue to “become more of myself,” and learned that distinctiveness, risk, and experimentation would be his lifelong pursuits. Since then, he has devoted himself to honing his vision, majoring in sociology and business at UCLA before moving onto Parsons School of Design, where he completed the graduate-level fashion design program.
As the premier black-diamond-focused designer, Azature has registered a specific shade of black diamond in his name, and is dedicated to providing customers with high-quality, conflict-free gems. Stars including Rihanna, Lindsay Lohan, Kelly Clarkson, Kim Kardashian, Fergie and Beyonce have worn his pieces.
