Day 2 saw some big name designers hit the runways of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia, my day however started late afternoon and it was definitely all about the skin for the shows I saw!

I first visited the backstage teams for Kahlo and I was very impressed! I would have to say I loved this makeup look as it was very clean, contoured and one anyone could create at home easily.
Elsa Morgan from DIOR created this fab look and the skin was a big focus, she explained, with key product being Dior’s Nude Foundation giving that great glow we can see!
Elsa also used 314 Rouge Dior on the lips and a fab taupe matte eye shadow used as wash across the socket, giving great shape to the eye and just before the show a gloss was applied on he lip to create extra light!
My next stop was to visit Makeup Director Lauren McCowan for the Aje show, which had another very raw, barely-there look. Its all about real beauty it seems this year and prepping the skin, which Lauren did very well here using La Roche-Posay skincare to prep all the models skin, keeping it look as is, with touches of foundation mixed with highlight to create a very clean, yet flawless look.
Very light reflecting and using a brand medley of products including the Tom Ford highlighter palette number 2 and Mac face and body – even using that as eye shadow, so everything can look not ‘overdone’ with applying too many products.
See for yourself this raw makeup look from Lauren;
With all these great nude skin makeup looks, I was craving that litte hint of colour and I got that backstage at Kate Sylvester with Makeup Director for M.A.C, Amber Dreedon.
Amber had similar views with skin, keeping the barely-there trend alive, but popping the look with M.A.C’s Candy Yum Yum bright pink lip – LOVE! Here are the lip products shown below;
Kate Sylvesters collection had a very graceful look with an inspiration from Marilyn Monroe and charismatic beauty with hints of Joe Dimaggio’s baseball jacket, from tan the colour of his mit to the stitching of a baseball.
Skin was created with M.A.C’s New Mineralise foundation and ‘Stormy Pink’, a very dusky mauve/mushroom shade over the socket for shape.
My favourite part was the Embrace Me lipliner lining the lip with Candy yum yum over the top for a wow factor and a lift from the nude, tan shades used in the collection.
Last designer for the evening was Dion Lee in his very private presentation at The Opera House where Napoleon Perdis created another look once again keeping fresh looking in a focus, but with small detailing around the eye. I loved the lower lash line, with a sight black line from inner to nearly half way to create focus, with the rest of the inner lower lash line kept clear with a white line.

Contouring with lots of glowing skin is huge this year so far at MBFWA, let’s see what day 3 will bring, see you there!
