Comedian and film star Zach Galifianakis might be the last person you’d expect to score an interview with the President of the United States. That said, Barack Obama is known to break presidential norms, and his latest move to promote his Affordable Care Act has had hilarious results.
Obama sat down for an interview with Zach Galifianakis on his fake talk show Between Two Ferns for Funny or Die in an attempt to encourage America’s young people to register for health insurance. The comedian took the unique opportuinity to ask the president questions ranging from sending ‘Ambassador Rodman’ to ‘North Ikea’ to same-sex divorce.
‘I have to say, when I heard that people actually watch this show, I was actually surprised,’ a typically straight-faced Obama said to Galifianakis.
The quick-witted president even got a few digs of his own in. When Zach Galifianakis asked whether Obama was annoyed that he couldn’t run for a third term, the president replied, ‘Actually, I think it’s a good idea. If I ran a third time, it would be like doing a third Hangover movie. Didn’t really work out very well, did it?’
The six minute interview is a hilarious watch, revealing Obama’s comedic chops, and has gone viral instantly, proving a successful move for the president and his health care aims.
