For Samantha Wills, beauty starts with skin care, and skin care starts with a healthy lifestyle. ‘Water definitely is the cheapest and most effective beauty product.’ But she gets a little help from her favourite skin care products too, citing SKII Facial Treatment Essence as an absolute must-have. ‘I started to get told by makeup artists that I have amazing skin,’ she says of the product. ‘It was very flattering and it was since I started using this. That was the biggest factor for me, when people started to comment on my skin that way.’
When it comes to makeup, Samantha likes to keep things natural, avoiding bold colours. ‘I’m not a huge lipstick girl, I would wear a red lip very rarely on a red carpet,’ she says. ‘But I really like YSL Rouge. It’s got a tiny bit of colour. It’s sheer and they taste lovely.’ The hydrating YSL lipstick is a staple in Samantha’s beauty bag, ‘I use it all the time over a nude lip that’s got a bit of a pink blush to it.’
For beauty inspiration, Samantha looks to her ‘long-term girl crush’ and friend, Erica Heynatz. ‘I think that her look is incredibly natural and striking, she’s very glamorous,’ she says. ‘I’ve been lucky enough to become her friend and she’s very charismatic so I think that makes her even more of a beauty icon to me.’
Samantha Wills’ opts for a natural day look and finds herself wearing less makeup on a day to day basis as she gets older. ‘You get to know yourself better, I think that you’re a lot more comfortable in your own skin… it’s a feeling too, you don’t want so much makeup caked on day to day, so it’s very natural.’ Samantha teams her natural day look with a spritz of her signature perfume, Chanel Coco Mademoiselle.
