Party Preparation Must Haves

Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Pinterest

By Kimberly Nissen, The Beauty Bandit

We are now so close to Christmas and New Years we can actually smell the festive meals being prepared. For some of us, the party season is just about to get going and we have everything you need to prepare yourself. These six items will take you from beach to ballroom gala and everything inbetween.

Available in a range of pinks, peaches and bronzes, the Shimmer Brick is a cheek and eyelids best friend during party season. The fine shimmer particles and mix of colours adds a healthy glow to the skin.

Rescu. Loves: Party Shimmer Brick – A limited edition Gold and Silver combo which can be used as individual highlighters or together for a multifaceted skin finish.

RRP $85 from David Jones, Myer and Bobbi Brown online.

Wake up your skin with this complexion perfecting mask. Originating in Japan, the cotton disposable mask is commonly used by Japanese brides everyday for a week leading up to their wedding so that their skin is in crystal clear condition on the big day.

Rescu. Recommends: For dry and dehydrated skin.

RRP $25 from David Jones and Myer.

Keep your makeup in one place all day and night with this vitamin and mineral infused face spritz. It sets makeup so you don’t have to worry about powdering every few hours.

Rescu. Loves: Perfect when you are going from day to night and you need your makeup to last.

RRP $27 from M.A.C Cosmetics counters, pro stores and online.

By preparing for the party season, you also need to think ahead. This serum will help ensure your skin recovers from any damage and alleviate irritation. It strengthens the skin to leave it looking fresh.

Rescu. Recommends: The perfect cure for too much sun and too much eggnog.

RRP $170 from David Jones and Myer.

A great lipstick that will last through meals, champagne and even a little festive caroling is an essential. The luxe lip offering from Tom Ford includes soja seed extract, Brazilin murumuru butter and chamomilla flower oil to create a cream texture that stays put.

Rescu. Loves: True Coral – The perfect bright hue to compliment all skin tones.

RRP $65 from David Jones City Doors only

The newly launched collection lashes feature over 44 unique designs, ranging from full and flirtatious to funky and fun. No matter what sort of party you are attending, you will find beautiful lashes to amp up your look.

Rescu. Recommends: To complete your glamorous party look.

RRP $16-$22 each pair from Napoleon Perdis online, David Jones and selected Napoleon Perdis concept stores.

Our resident celebrity makeup guru, Napoleon Perdis, created his new line of false lashes not just for party looks but also as a timeless essential. Here he explains why every woman should have a pair.

“There’s something very classic and beautiful about lashes… They really evoke that nostalgia for old Hollywood and that very glamorous period where screen stars were immaculate always. I was really inspired by the old-fashioned beauty supply stores that used to custom make lashes for the stars of that era. So while lashes are very much in this season, they’re by no means a fad. I created the new Lash Bars as homage to classic glamour. I was adamant about having a great selection available, from the OTT to the most subtle individuals, and the Lash Bars carry 40 different lashes.”
