MBFWA Day Four exceeded our beauty expectations from the kaleidoscope of pink at Jenny Kee to the natural, earthy, women of the land at Roopa Pemmaraju.
In one of the most talked about looks of the day, the eye-popping, static Jenny Kee presentation held at The Box combined other-worldy beauty with organic, tribal hair.
Richard Kavanagh of Redken, designed 10 different hair looks for the models with traditional African corns-rows braided into a regal beehive as he described. The hair was adorned with branches and trinkets reminiscent of a psychadelic African tribe. The make-up look by MAC Cosmetics was a kaleidoscope of pink tones washed over the cheeks, brow bone and eye lids. Rescu. Loves the use of iridescent products that reflected the light like jewels in the darkness of The Box.
Down in The Theatre at Roopa Pemmajura, less was definitely more as a soft, neutral look enhanced the intricate detail of the Aboriginal designs on Indian silk. The artists at Elizabeth Arden kept the look of the land with a feminine edge, with earthy hues and dusty pinks. On the runway, we were transported to a serene land as the sleek hair look with a singles plait embedded on the left side, took the madness out of the day and we were able to relax and enjoy the show.
