It can be hard to find a good hair cut for a good price, and when some hairdressers can be a little overpriced for just a snip, it leaves you wondering if there’s any other way to get that perfect hair cut. Luckily RESCU’s Money Maven has pulled together some great ideas for you to try out, but beware, some are a little risky!
Hairdresser Academies: This is probably the best way to go about getting an inexpensive yet great haircut. These academies are full of new and learning hairdressers who are yearning to try out what they’ve learnt on a real head of hair. Trained by professionals, students can do a fantastic job at cutting and styling your hair, and all for less than you’d pay for a packet of hair dye!
Hair Shows: This is a great way to get a new all over look and not just a cut. Hair shows normally require models with hair they can cut, colour and style and are held by award winning salons. Get in touch with top salons to see if they’re looking for anyone now or in future, but be prepared to have your whole look changed!
Befriend Your Hairdresser: If you’re the type who strays from hairdresser to hairdresser, never really settling down, then perhaps it’s time you finally did. Some hairdressers are kind enough to offer loyalty discounts to regular customers who always make a point to go back to the same hairdresser. It can be hard to find the perfect hairdresser, but once you think you’ve found them, stick with them!
DIY: This comes with a WARNING – there is a risk when cutting your own hair, but if all you need is a quick trim to your fringe or to tidy up split ends and you’re good with the scissors, it might just do the trick. You can find some great tutorials on Youtube to show you how to cut your hair. Better still, if you have a friend or family member who seems comfortable snipping at your locks, you can always ask them to lend a helping hand.
Coupons: Websites such as Spreets and StarDeals email you coupons straight to your inbox. You can get up to 70% off your haircuts at selected hairdressers just by presenting the coupons that you receive. Professional and affordable!
New places: Always be on the look out for new hairdressers that are just opening. Normally they will have opening specials and you can get yourself a great haircut for next to nothing, and possibly a great new hairdresser!
