Amidst swirling rumours of their impending marriage breakdown Beyonce Knowles and husband Jay Z have silenced their critics by renewing their vows.
Beyonce and Jay Z renewed their wedding vows while in a commitment ceremony during a family holiday to Corsica for Beyonce’s 33rd birthday earlier this month.
A source told Grazia magazine, “They were joined on a private beach by Beyonce’s mum Tina, their daughter Blue Ivy and a small group of close friends and recited a new set of vows during a short but very romantic ceremony, which doubled up as a birthday celebration.”
“The small wedding party celebrated with drinks and food made by the couple’s private chef. “
Afterwards, they rented a luxury US$500,000 yacht to cruise around Italy, which they have been calling their second honeymoon.
“From now on, they intend to mark the day of the ceremony as their new wedding anniversary and have told friends they are focusing firmly on their future together.”
Despite the rumours, Beyonce has been open about sharing intimate family snaps of the family via Instagram and her website, including candid snaps of her rap superstar husband on the extravagant yacht and of herself cutting her birthday cake.
Jay Z even hinted that the two might be expecting a second child during a show in Paris recently whilst performing his song Beach is Better. The rapper changed the lyrics from “I replace it with another one” to “pregnant with another one” sparking a media storm.
Beyonce was also moved to tears during the couple’s Paris show, explaining that the city held a special place for her and her husband.
“We love Paris,” she said. “It’s special to us because we got engaged here and this is where baby Blue was conceived.”
Beyonce told her husband, “I’m your biggest fan. I love you,” to which he replied, “Greatest entertainer in the world. I love her. She’s my wife.”
The public first caught wind of the cracks in their picture prefect marriage in May after that elevator incident, followed by claims they slept in separate rooms while on their joint On The Run tour.
