In the wake of the family scandal that was Solange and Jay-Z’s elevator fight; Beyonce and Jay-Z have released a video preview of their upcoming North American tour that has us ready to book some flights and sneak in to one of the sold-out shows…
Naturally, the power couple went big — really big — with the video, recruiting A-listers like Sean Penn, Blake Lively, Jake Gyllenhaal, Rashida Jones, and Don Cheadle in a faux movie trailer that is a little like a sequel to their 2002 clip for ’03 Bonnie & Clyde’. The trailer, created by Grammy-award director Melina Matsoukas, is as slick as they come and stars the couple as high-end bank robbers who are, surprise surprise, on the run.
At 3 minutes and 44 seconds long, the trailer is a full minute longer than the average film trailer. And, in our opinion, an average of 344% better…
The big-budget trailer from the couple was hardly necessary, the On the Road tour sold out in minutes. But when you’re worth an estimated $900 million, why not, right?
