Although Barack Obama was overjoyed to win the U.S. presidential election yesterday, it seems Diva Queen Beyoncé Knowles was equally, if not more ecstatic.
Posting a picture on her Tumblr account that read, “TAKE THAT MITCHES,” The starlet who is an avid supporter of Obama, was clearly referring to supporters of Obama’s opposition Mitt Romney.
Throughout Obama’s campaign Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z have been extremely vocal about their hope for the US President’s re-election, even hosting an extravagant celebrity fundraiser Dinner in September at Jay-Z’s 40/40 club in New York.
But that was only the beginning of the starlet’s public displays of affection to her beloved President.
The day before voting commenced Beyoncé wrote a letter to Obama which she posted on her official website:
“President Obama,
Everyday we see your heart and character, inspiring all of us to give more of ourselves.
You are the leader to take us from where we are to where we need to be.
You are the reason my daughter and nephew will grow up knowing that they can truly be ANYTHING they want to be.
All my respect and adoration, Beyoncé.”
Amongst the voting yesterday the superstar also posted a photo of herself casting her ballot for Obama and even opened an Instagram account with her first picture being one of herself, wearing a “Texans For Obama” T-shirt (image above).
Lady Gaga has shown her support elsewhere this week with the starlet announcing she is donating $1 Million to the American Red Cross to help aid the Hurricane Sandy relief in New York.
The pop star, 26, has been devastated by the damage of Hurricane Sandy taking to twitter to express her love and support: “east coast how are you holding up? How are you New York? Staying strong i hope, thinking of you all the time. Can’t even watch news feed.”
Unable to visit her former neighbourhood due to tour commitments, Gaga instead took to her blog LittleMonsters.com to share the news of her generous donation:
“Today I pledge 1 million dollars to New York & The American Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy Relief. If it wasn’t for NYC: the Lower Eastside, Harlem, the Bronx and Brooklyn, I would not be the woman or artist that I am today. New York is relentless ambition, a drive to succeed, a place where there is a natural pursuit of diversity through compassion. Please accept this gift on behalf of myself, my parents Joe and Cynthia, and my sister Natali; with our deepest gratitude New York for raising us. Thank you for helping me build my spirit. I will now help you rebuild yours. Sincerely, Lady Gaga and The Germanottas.”
