With the weather cooling down, it’s time for a complexion boost. Blush done right can instantly light up the face, create an illusion of youth and emphasise cheekbones. It’s all about choosing the right shade for you.
These days there’s a lot more on offer than just a pink powder. With new blush technologies and a whole host of beautiful shades, shopping for blush is a lot more exciting than it once was and there’s a blush available for every occasion and every skin tone.
Rescu. Expert Tips:
We asked Rescu. resident beauty expert Napoleon Perdis for some tips on blushing so you’ll know how to choose and how to use the blushers we’ve recommended.
How to select the right shade of blush for your skin tone: You can’t really go wrong with warm colours like coral and pink, which are universally flattering for all skin tones and add that instant improvement to the face. For fair skin, a light pink or a soft mauve tone always works well while peach looks great on medium tones. Sheer berries and wine-toned red are your best bet for darker skins.
How to apply:
Tap a large soft blush brush onto the powder blush then remove any excess on the back of your hand so your results are not too intense. Then, smile like you mean it and sweep the colour onto the front and fuller part of the cheek in soft, tapping motions.
To accentuate your cheekbones for a more dramatic look, softly sweep a deeper shade of blush along the cheekbone for a more contoured effect. Just be careful not to be too heavy handed; blush should be a subtle statement.
