If there is one book you buy amid the self-help haze that comes with the New Year, it absolutely has to be Start Your Day with Katie.

Katie Piper was the victim of an acid attack by her ex-boyfriend which let her significantly disfigured. She continues to require medical treatment for her injuries, yet has found a way to create some good out of such terrible circumstances.

 

Start Your Day with Katie is simply 365 positive affirmations, one for each day of the year. They are some of Katie’s own personal thoughts or favourite quotes and mantras, designed to help you start your day with an optimistic attitude.

About the author: Katie Piper is a presenter and charity campaigner. In 2008 she survived a rape and acid attack that left her facially disfigured. Her moving Channel 4 documentary was watched by 3.5 million viewers. Katie founded her own charity to help people living with burns and scars and recently received a prestigious Woman of the Year award.
