Brad Pitt got a little more than he had bargained for when he showed up for wife Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent premiere on Wednesday night.
The actor, who walked the red carpet with Angelina at the El Captain Theatre in Hollywood, got quite the shock as an overzealous fan jumped over the barrier to the red carpet area and rushed at him suddenly.
Six to seven security guards then came to wrestle the man to the ground, before hand-cuffing him and leading him away from the premiere. It has been reported he will be charged for misdemeanor battery.
The ever cool, calm, and collected Brad was left a little rattled but, thankfully, unhurt, and soon resumed signing autographs for those less-crazy fans who remained behind the barrier and, well, civilized.
Crazed fan aside, the night was a huge success for Brad and Ange. The pair wore their signature all-black, and looked happy and in love as they posed for photos.
And Ange’s performance in the Disney film, which tells the untold story of Maleficent, the villain from the 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty, has so far been praised, even if the film as a whole hasn’t.
Regardless of the not-so-rave reviews, we’re looking forward to seeing Ange as one of the world’s most iconic villains!
