On Friday morning Britney Spears tweeted, “OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I’ve been waiting for. Can’t wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo.” Later that night we got a glimpse of that gift when the pop star stepped out of her Las Vegas hotel to reveal an incredible Neil Lane diamond on her ring finger and the media entered into a frenzy. Spears and her new fiancé Jason Trawick were in Vegas celebrating his 40th birthday and had arrived on a private jet earlier in the evening though Britney managed to conceal her new ring under a pair of gloves. After revealing the ring, Spears’ rep confirmed the engagement reports and Britney updated her facebook status to ‘engaged’. Now People in the US have spoken to celebrity jeweller Neil Lane about the ring. He said, “Jason is a romantic and when I asked him to tell me about Britney and what the ring would represent to them so I could find inspiration, his response was always the same – she is his princess!” Britney’s incredible ring was therefore designed from a tiara-motif with a round, perfect white diamond in a handmade platinum setting that, “looks like a mini crown.” The eternity band has 90 small round diamonds. The celebrated jeweller thinks the pair will be together for a long time, saying, “He’s deeply in love with her. Britney is his princess and he is her knight in shining armor. Jason’s protective of her. He adores her. Every good fairytale needs a princess and now Britney has a ring fit for a princess!”
With the world at their feet and enough money to do whatever they want, you can’t help but wonder how Brad Pitt, his partner Angelina Jolie and their six kids celebrate the big moments. Over the weekend the entire family went to Las Vegas to celebrate Brad’s 48th birthday. They decided to experience the Michael Jackson The Immortal Cirque Du Soleil touring show as a family. After a night at the circus, the family stayed at the lavish Four Seasons hotel together. Happy Birthday Brad!
Earlier this year, Kelly Osbourne replace Taylor Momsen as the ambassador of Madonna’s Material Girl clothing range. She said, “I’m sad, but I’m really excited to help pick the next girl and that I got to be a part of this process.” 15-year-old Lourdes, Madonna’s daughter who is heavily involved with the line, said, “Kelly was at every audition. I was only at one and I did the online stuff. It was difficult because we only get photos and resumes.” But Kelly doesn’t see it as a hard task, she says it was inspiring seeing all the girls audition in New York and knows whoever wins the contract is extremely lucky. She told People magazine, “They get on a stage in the middle of Macy’s on a microphone in front of the mall. It’s really intimidating – really scary. But it gave me faith in the female kind again seeing these awesome young girls on stage spilling their guts. One girl drove 20 hours! I can’t even tell you what it’s done for my confidence. To be a face of a fashion line? I’m not even a model citizen.” Kelly will officially hand it over to the new girl in February but is hoping to still be involved with the brand. She said: “I am going to the first photo shoot with the girls.” Lourdes added: “Of course she’ll be involved. We’re pallies. We’re pals.”
