Britney Spears joins the X Factor judging panel for a reported $15million and Karl Lagerfeld unveils new Chanel Eyewear campaign fronted by 90s glamazon Linda Evangalista.
If the reports prove true, 90s pop princess and troubled star, Britney Spears is set to become the highest-paid celebrity judge on TV, besting Jennifer Lopez’s US$12-million for American Idol, Christina Aguilera’s US$10-million for The Voice and X Factor predecessor Paula Abdul’s mere US$2.5-million chump.
And she has Simon Cowell to thank. Simon has finally got Spears on board after firing a string of worthy judges including, Paula Abdul, Nicole Sherzinger and Steve Jones.
Cowell reportedly landed the 30-year-old singer to the tune of US$15-million — which is equivalent to $365,000 an hour! According to an insider, the deal, which breaks down to approximately US$13-million for the actual act of judging and another US$2-million for performing, has been agreed upon but not signed as Spears is still under the conservatorship of her father following certain public meltdowns.
“Both camps were back and forth on the money but now they have finally come to agreement on the fee,” an insider tells E! “That was the big sticking point and now, thankfully, it’s been sorted. All they need to do now is work out the smaller points. The fact the money is now set, means that there is nothing stopping this from becoming a reality.”
E! also reports that Spears’ fiancé, Jason Trawick, will be joining the pop star on the show as a producer. “Jason is expected to be there every day Britney is on set,” a production insider confirms. “He is her rock and will help guide her through the process. He is the person she trusts the most.”
We can’t wait for Britney’s judging debut – who better to get advice from? She’s seen it all.
Karl Lagerfeld has chosen Linda Evangelista as the face of the Spring-Summer 2012 Eyewear collection.
Featuring a motorsports theme, supermodel Linda poses during a photo shoot at Studio 7L against the backdrop of a chequered flag bearing the double C. Four lines with four different stories predict a summer (in the northern hemisphere) that will be rich in colour.
Black and white is combined with bold, vivid shades of yellow, blue, green, orange and red. Oversized sunglasses playfully evoke the Sixties, while the optical range takes on a more serious, scholarly feel. The arms are dressed in patent lambskin, with the signature CC logo, a discreet silhouette on the leather.
Chanel’s codes of black and white combined with a quilted effect unite to create a revisited classic on an optical frame. A perfect fusion of fashion with high technology, the racing feel is enhanced by the carbon fibre woven like tweed along an aviator sunglasses frame.
Nothing like Linda to evoke a bit of old Hollywood glam, sigh! Would love to get our hands on a pair of these!
