Carolina Herrera’s Spring/Summer collection was inspired by traditional Korean costume. A gorgeous palette of forest green, fuchsia, burnt orange and red accompanied more restrained neutrals down the runway.Tall, wide-brimmed straw hats topped the heads of some models while others wore just the neat up-do. This beautiful collection called for a unique beauty look.
Diane Kendal, MAC make-up director for the show, said, “The inspiration was traditional Korean costume, floral prints or photographs of flowers, which led us to create a brick coloured eye.”
The brick eye was created with MAC’s brick lip pencil, blended from the lash line to the crease of the eyelids and diffused out toward the outer corners of the eye. Antiqued eye shadow and Diva lipstick was tapped on top of this for soft definition. Heavily curled lashes coated with black haute and naughty mascara finished off the look.
The rest of the look was very simple. Models’ faces wore Studio Finish Concealer to disguise any imperfections, Transparent Finishing Powder to minimise shine and a coating of Pinch’O’Peach blush on the apple of the cheeks. Lips were coated with Sugar Rimmed Dazzleglass for an effortless glow.
