Caulfield Cup DayMegan Gale shocked the more traditional race goers at Caulfield Cup Day in Melbourne on Saturday when she arrived in a bright pink pant suit by Lisa Ho. Pants are generally a big no-no in the race scene but there’s no denying the leggy model looked incredible. She teamed the suit with a cut-out white blouse and a matching bright pink hat.
Lara Bingle flew in from Sydney for the event and opted for a black, figure-hugging dress by Scanlan & Theodore with leopard-print ankle boots. We’ve come accustomed to seeing Bingle wearing black so it was really not that much of a shock despite bucking the traditional race day dress code. She teamed the ensemble with a miniature top hat.
Bambi Northwood-Bluth and her longtime boyfriend Dan Single were out for the event and the model ditched a hat completely opting instead for a twisted up-do.
Samantha Harris and Jessica Gomes completed the show of Aussie models, each opting for more subdued shades and big headpieces. The stars were quickly migrated to the marquee where The Slap star Alex Dimitriades was DJing for the day.
Decade of Difference Gala You know an event is worth a mention when the likes of Jessica Alba, Rachel Zoe, Jane Fonda, Stevie Nicks, Fergie, User, Lady Gaga and even Bono are involved. The weekend saw each of those celebs and make their way to LA’s Hollywod Palladium for the Clinton Foundation’s Decade of Difference Gala and concert the next night. The event kicked off on Friday with an extravagant dinner. Jessica Alba arrived with husband Cash Warren looking sweet-as-sugar in a sheer blouse and navy skirt. The couple sat beside friends Joel and Benji Madden for the dinner that reportedly cost $6,500 to per couple to attend.
Rachel Zoe opted for a white gown sequined with navy and silver while Sofia Vergara of Modern Family fame chose a sexy, strapless black dress.
On Saturday night the celebrations honouring the former president’s philanthropic organisation continued with the Decade of Difference concert. User, Lady Gaga, Kenny Chesney, Juanes and K’Naan, The Edge and Bono all performed for a huge crowd and those watching at home as it was streamed live.
