It seems like it’s been ages since we’ve seen Charlize Theron in a memorable movie role, but that’s about to change with the release of her new film “The Road”. Based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Cormac McCarthy, The Road is a post-apocalyptic thriller about a father and son’s journey to the south in an attempt to escape the endless winter.
Is it just us, or does there seem to be a sudden surge of movies about the end of days? Whatever the reason for this phenomenon, we’re still tempted to see The Road, not only because we loved McCarthy’s other creepy novel No Country For Old Men but also because it stars the dreamy Viggo Mortensen (The Lord of the Rings) and our very own Guy Pearce.
At Rescu. we loved the images of Charlize at the premiere in Los Angeles this week, looking very old Hollywood and ever so glamorous.
From what we hear, The Road is dark and scary, but makes for the perfect opportunity to snuggle up to your partner in the cinema.
The Road is released in cinemas in Australia in January.
