Cindy Crawford might be turning 50 next February, but the ultimate supermodel shows no signs of slowing down.
Currently on a whirl-wind tour for her new book Becoming, the American beauty icon has admitted to E-online that she sometimes yearns for her daughter’s youthfulness.
“Kaia’s blossoming into such a beautiful young woman and I really want to let her shine,” she continued. “I don’t want her to feel in competition with me, although I’ll tease her, and say, ‘You have my old hair — give it back!’ Or, ‘Give me back my legs!’ But she’ll be fine … She’s much more together and worldly than I was at her age.”
The collection of personal essays and never before seen photographs also touches on her short-lived marriage to Richard Gere, and how he taught her to cope with being famous.
The pair married in Vegas when both were at the height of their careers, and divorced four years later in 1995.
Cindy later found love again with Rande Gerber and if often pictured holidaying with close friends George and Amal Clooney.
Life hasn’t always been smooth-sailing for Cindy. Despite being class valedictorian in her high-school and juggling her burgeoning model career, she was often the target for bullies. Taunted for her now trademark facial mole and long legs, it wasn’t until a photo of her appeared in the Chicago Tribune that her fortunes started to change. The rest they say is history.
Cindy now spends most of her days in Malibu , raising her family and recently opened up her stunning home to The Coveteur, including an envy-inducing, custom-build closet.
Showing off Cindy’s natural all-american exuberance and athleticism, the cover photo of Becoming, was taken by legendary photographer Herb Ritts who was a close friend.
Coffee table books are fast becoming the must-have accessory for a stylish home. Fellow supermodel Gisele Bundchen is set to release a limited edition book with Taschen later this year, with the eye-watering price of $700.
