Beauty gets a heavy dose of drama this week as the Lancôme Eye Show collection hits centre stage, Clinique goes one up on an iconic product and I test the waters on an at home skin needling device – cue the cliff-hanger.
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+, despite its name, is the simplest solution to drastically improving your complexion. The moisturiser comes with a new formulation to enable quick and easy absorption to immediately result in a healthy glow. The winter weather will take a back seat on disrupting your skin’s health as the blend of sunflower seed cake, barley extract and cucumber fruit extract aim to strengthen the skin’s barrier. If you’ve been searching for a moisturiser to overcome dryness and dullness, the hyaluronic acid, glycerine and urea will leave you and your skin smiling.

Beauty and fashion collide once again as fashion designer, Alber Elbaz, lends his quirky eye and signature style to four, top-tier Lancôme mascaras and eye palettes in this irresistible collection. My personal favourite for screen siren drama with a dash of innocence is the ‘Doll lashes’ mascara dressed in gorgeous red hearts for doe-eye inducing effects. For that wide-eyed Amanda Seyfried look, open the show with this limited edition Hypnose mascara that creates a flirtatious lash fringe with extra curve and confidence.
Match it with the playful Doll Eye Palette for runway-ready colour in Rose Coquette. Customise your look thanks to the ‘wet technology’ for drop dead gorgeous colour with a lustrous, luminous finish – and yes, it’s party proof.

Just when we thought Dr. LeWinn’s had mastered the prescription to skin perfection, they threw us a curve ball with Dr. LeWinn’s 4-Fusion (yes, 4!) Cleansing Oil. Oil is no longer a dirty word in beauty, particularly when it comes to soft, supple skin. The 4-Fusion cleansing oil is your new best friend when it comes to obliterating make-up and impurities, I suggest keeping it by your bedside to avoid committing the cardinal beauty sin of not removing your makeup before bed. A delightful fusion of botanical essences, rosehip oil, tamanu oil and argan oil is a heavenly combination to regenerate and deeply hydrate, leaving drab, dull skin in the history books.

Rescu. Editor Road Test:
I see makeup collections come and go, hairstylers, nail technology and self-tanning products all have their time in the limelight but no beauty fad will ever replace stopping skin ageing in it’s tracks. My newest find in the blockbusters of anti-ageing technology is the revolutionary Dermapen Personal from Equipmed – that’s right, DIY skin needling.
Do not be alarmed by the words ‘skin’ and ‘needling’ in conjunction with ‘doing it yourself’. Obliterating fine lines and increasing collagen is now as easy as, well, colouring in the lines.
Whilst this is an at home kit and claims 0 down time, I do have to fess up to the more hard core nature of the treatment and the fact that I experienced 24 hours of redness and some tenderness over 72 hours. The upside however was well worth the slight discomfort as my skin looked and felt plumper, more alive and certainly in better shape in less than a week after the treatment. Dermapen may not be the anti-ageing beauty saviour for the feint hearted, but if you want results and are willing to take matters into your own hand, certainly give this excellent at home gizmo a go! Watch below as I test out the Dermapen.
