Dally M Awards Red Carpet
Following in the disappointingly-safe heels of the Brownlow’s red carpet, last night the Dally M awards red carpet was spared from the train wreck ensembles we’ve all become accustomed, and admittedly look forward, to.
Don’t get us wrong though, there was certainly no shortage of sequins adorning the wives and girlfriends of NRL’s finest and we’re sure they managed to get through their fair share of Hollywood Tape on the night.
At eight-months-pregnant Terry Bivano was looking stunning in a white Steven Khaili dress with sheer embellishments and one serious thigh split as she stood by husband Roosters captain Anthony Minichiello.
Laura Dundovic, who recently started dating Rabbitohs player Tom Burgess, showed off a glowing tan in a white Toni Maticevski frock adorned with, you guess it, silver sequins.
Jessica Mauboy, who performed on the night, broke up a sea of black, white, and glitter in a stunning hot pink and orange lace gown. Is it just us or does Jess just keep getting better?
But of course, it wasn’t all about the gowns. Melbourne Storm halfback Cooper Cronk was awarded the prestigious Dally M Award by none other than Russell Crowe! Congratulations Cronk.
Jay Z Opens Up About Drug Dealing Past
We’d hardly blame Jay Z for sweeping his drug-dealing past under the rug, but the star has never hidden the fact that he grew up surrounded by gangs in Brooklyn and had dealt drugs by the time he was 13.
Despite the up-front admission, Jay Z has spared any details about his past. Until now.
The 43-year-old opened to Vanity Fair magazine about how his past as a dealer has helped his mult-million dollar empire. He said, “I know about budgets, I was a drug dealer. To be in a drug deal, you need to know what you can spend, what you need to re-up. If you want to start some sort of barbership or carwash — those were the businesses back then, things you can get in easily to get out of [that] life, you have to have an exit strategy because you window [for dealing drugs] is very small. You’re going to get locked up or you’re going to die.”
As Jay Z continued, he revealed some of the whys of his past, saying, “I was thinking about surviving. I was thinking about improving my situation. I was thinking about buying clothes.”
On a lighter note, Jay Z also spoke candidly about Blue Ivy and Bey, telling Vanity Fair that Blue loves music, and that in his early courtship with Beyonce, he was all about dazzling her with a little old fashioned wining and dining.
The interview appears in the November issue of Vanity Fair https://www.vanityfair.com/online/daily/2013/10/jay-z-beyonce-blue-ivy-story in which Jay Z is the cover star.
Lily Collins for Lancôme
After rumours were swirling yesterday, the announcement that Lily Collins is the latest brand ambassador to join the Lancôme lineup of celebrities came as little surprise, but we’re thrilled nonetheless!
Lily, who debuted in The Blind Side with Sandra Bullock and proved herself as one to watch, will become a Lancôme ambassador as of January 2014 when the Spring make-up collection, French Ballerine, launches.
Of the role, Lily said, “It’s an absolute honour privilege to have been chosen to represent the Maison Lancôme. I have always admired the brand’s unique and distinctive appreciation for inner beauty and grace, elegance and utter radiance. I feel incredibly lucky to be included among the most inspirational women ambassadresses for one of the most prestigious brands in the world. It’s truly a dream come true.”
Françoise Lehmann, General Manager of Lancôme International, is equally as thrilled, saying, “With her charm, gracefulness, modernity and lively wit, Lily Collins is the perfect embodiment of femininity according to Lancôme. We are delighted to begin this collaboration with Lily, who brings a renewed sense of radiance and youthfulness to Lancôme.”
We think Lily is the perfect fit for Lancôme and can’t wait to see what she brings to the brand!
