Sneak Peek: David Bowie For Louis Vuitton
You know you’re a fashion icon when an entire museum exhibition is devoted to your style.
And now David Bowie has landed the ultimate accolade for the modern fashionista – a Louis Vuitton campaign.
It’s all part of their epic short film series, L’Invitation Au Voyage – and after the first instalment featured Arizona Muse taking off from the Louvre in a hot air balloon, it was unclear how Vuitton would top it.
However, the second film features Muse again, being serenaded by Bowie at a masked ball – in Venice, of course.
It will be released on a specially created app on November 7th, but Rescu. has a few titbits to tide you over until then.
The film was shot in Venice by Romain Gavras, who shot MIA’s Born Free video and is also a Dior favourite. Bowie, multi-talented as always, plays the harpsichord, and Muse escapes once again in a Chinese boat.
At the centre is, of course, a mysterious letter hidden in various beautiful Vuitton handbags and trunks. No word, yet, on what it might contain.
We expect that Chinese boat means the next instalment will be in Beijing – and we wonder who Vuitton will find to star in that one…

Victoria Beckham Launches A New Line
World domination is not enough for Victoria Beckham.
She’s launched an entirely new line, alongside her four currently existing ones – a pre-collection.
Pre-collections, otherwise known as cruise or resort collections, are out-of-season clothes – so VB’s latest offering is full of summer delights, for the Northern hemisphere people who want to have a hot Christmas.
However, for Aussies they’re perfectly timed.
So what’s in the new line?
The big news is neon yellow – apparently Beckham’s new favourite summer colour. It’s on dresses and all over accessories.
Definitely a way to play up a golden tan. And elsewhere, there’s bright blue, soft pink, and great tailoring.
The line is for sale from today on Net-a-Porter. Will you be looking for a Christmas present from her new collection?

Gaultier Opens His Vintage Vault To The World
Jean Paul Gaultier has produced an edit of 50 of his vintage pieces for sale on online boutique Farfetch.
And the collection, Vintage Vault 1, is stuffed full of classics from the designer’s decades-long career.
It spans ten years, from 1984-94, beginning with the classic menswear show that made his name. And yes, there are cone bras involved, if only on a sweater.
Rescu. browsed the collection and picked out the best buys for a really Gaultier Christmas.
Some of Gaultier’s pieces were very of their moment and can’t be incorporated into today’s wardrobes – unless you’re basically fearless. The fitted mens’ jockeys-inspired shorts, for instance.
However, others are classics of design. His striped sailor pants, for instance, or the classic LBD with corseting and a high neck – perfect for vintage fun.
If you’re feeling braver, go for some of his famous prints and embellishments – he’s included fabulous printed jackets, shirts and skirts.
However, we predict it’s the jackets that will sell out in a flash. Vintage Gaultier leather tuxedos and biker jackets are like gold dust, and the collection of some of the best, including his great black trench and tweed-and-leather short jacket, will get noticed fast.
All the pieces are proper vintage – as in, one size and one piece only – so if you’re looking, make sure you do a size check.
We can, however, predict that, coming from Gaultier’s own archives, they’re likely to be in better-than-best condition. They may even smell of Madonna’s perfume.
