Forget delicate spring awakening style numbers, it was back to G.I. Jane worthy combat sex appeal at Gucci. From the slicked back hair to the no-nonsense attitude of the models, this collection was taking no prisoners.
Sharp black jackets and skirts appeared, in both nylon and leather, accentuated at times with fuchsia or deep blue. Rubber piping, harnesses and safety belts as well as silver hardware details gave a sporty and fierce feel, whilst clothes that were sculptured to the body with dramatic cut outs were decidedly bondage.
Pucci: Continuing with the theme of ‘sex sells’, there were plenty of flashy, flesh-baring gowns in the brightest of swirling hues at Pucci; prefect for hitting the St Tropez pool or nightclub in next summer.
From midriff exposing gowns to strapless bare shoulders and hip-high splits, this collection was all about toned, taught and tanned skin. Short, sharp and tight dresses, with jewelled skirts came down the runway, next to cropped snakeskin jackets, sprayed on jeans, cut out bikinis with matching cropped jackets, sheer sarongs and kaftans, and micro mini hot pants that would make Kylie proud.
Remaining true to the iconic Pucci print, the collection was infused with a Mediterranean feel of swirling aqua and turquoise ‘wavelike’ Pucci prints. Some were even combined with yellow and orange swirling shell patterns.
Wallflowers, be warned this collection is not for you. Rather it is for the type of woman who dresses for attention and expects to get plenty of it.
