Back to nature- fashionista style …With love in the air on day 4 of fashion week, we set off to see rising star Thakoon.
Thakoon
After all when just like Thakoon you have Anna Wintour’s nod of approval, even the cold weather shouldn’t dampen your spirits.
The theme of the show was ‘back to nature, primitive and earthy’ and as models appeared with wild hair in textured clothes made of fur and suede with mixed layers, textures and proportions, the fashion pack were relieved they could ‘get back to nature’ by donning these creations- rather than by rolling out the LV tent and going camping.
Hooded jackets and tracksuit crossed with harem pants as fashion wear in deep grey mixed things up yet still remained luxurious, as did whimsical chiffon with flounced and ruched details in delicate ivory, ebony and muted mustard.
The tiger print dress drew gasps from the audience and is a perfect ode to the year of the tiger.
Next it was time for clued up fashionistas to look Clueless. Clueless the movie that is- as nineties backpacks, over-the-knee socks, bare midriffs, pleated minis mixed with tuxedo tails made their way down the catwalk with a slightly gothic, tailored edge.
Russian royalty filled the room with Natalia Vodianova modelling and designer/gallery owner/ fashion editor/ Oligarchess Dasha Zhukova looking on from the front row.
Luca Luca
Modern Uptown Minx …Fittingly it was time for some romance with Luca Luca, where classic uptown chic was shaken up and modernised to create a look that made potential uptight ladylike look so refreshingly now, so modern and so chic.
By mixing fabrics and styles, a timelessly elegant look that works in both the day and night, uptown or downtown was perfectly created.
We love the sheer ivory blouse combined with a black leather, middle split pencil mini finished off with a neat ponytail and racy red lips.
We also adored the princessy ivory chiffon skirts with ballerina bejewelled bodice, dresses with key holes cut out, luxurious fur jackets, ethereal Grecian gowns of white and gold, funked up with heavier ankle boots, demure coats over structured dresses, which managed to combine demure fabrics and colours with seductive lines and just the right amount of skin, finished off with suggestive yet ladylike leather gloves. Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, where are you?
