Leather was mixed with soft tulle, and dizzying prints adding a touch of playfulness to the latest collection from Dhini. The label have taken a new direction away from their past designs, and we love it!
Last year Dhini brought a military inspired look to the runway at RAFW, and with that in mind, the new direction for the label came as a shock, but a pleasant one. The label worked hard to provide a new atmosphere in the Cargo Hall, which has seen the majority of shows from the week featuring a standard runway. Dhini decided instead to create a maze for their models, providing every guest with a unique front row position. We loved the fact that we could get up close and see the fine detail and effort put into each piece from this view.
The collection featured key prominent looks from a beautiful print of circles and triangles, tulle draping, and zipper detail. Dhini played with different silhouettes, through body con pieces worked with loose floating designs that will encourage the buyer to play and mix with their outfit. Attention to detail was key at Dhini, with diamond cut designs featuring across chests and sleeves. Printed leggings were worn on almost every model, in the signature circle and triangle purple print.
A relaxed peg leg pant in a muted grey blue is bound to be a buyer favourite, and collared shirts were teamed with stunning cropped leather jackets for a sleek, sharp look. When Dhini weren’t focusing on a well tailored silhouette, they played with heavy draping and tulle in a range of ultra-femme dresses. A slim lined beige dress featured tulle shoulders whilst a flesh coloured billowing dress incorporated soft gathered silks and tulle around the neck and back. The models towering bee hive hair styles, brought new heights and a high end sophistication to the collection.
Dhini incorporated the little black dress into the collection, which featured a full frontal zipper and gathered detail around the waist. There was also a must have structured black cropped jacket that included a soft billowing cotton at the back, contrasting between fluid and sharp contours.
The colour palette of dusted blues, purples, nudes and black brought a fresh aesthetic to Dhini’s past designs, and we love how they played around with varying fabrics, mixing tulle with leather and delicately laser cutting designs to add signature detail.
