It’s party time and all our favourite luxe beauty houses are unveiling their ultra deluxe palettes and collections. Gold is HUGE this year as are rich velvety lips, smokey eyes and luminous skin. Here’s my pick of the best luxury takes on holiday glamour:

1. Guerlain Noel
Inspired by the mysteries of the Orient and the influence of Paris on Shanghai in the roaring 20s, Guerlain has created a masterpiece holiday collection. The collection captures the essence and detail of famed Asian beauty rituals, precision, seduction and glamour. I love it and will be giving the Liu eye and lip calligraphy Palette to my besties this Christmas. This limited edition, collector’s piece is the ultimate lip and eye palette with two lips and three eyeshadows, plus a matte black powder liner to use wet or dry to create added drama. But as with all things uber luxe, it’s not just what’s inside that counts. The Chinese lacquer style case is a showstopper.

2. Michael Kors for Estee Lauder Make Up Collection
The bag, the products and the all out gorgeousness that personify these three collections can not be underestimated. Die hard Michael Kors fans will no doubt collect all three but I’m pining for the Gunmetal Make Up Collection – only $125 with a value of $275 complete with

3. Chanel Christmas Collection- Eclat du soir de Chanel
Gold fever, vintage inspiration, luxe Chanel detailing. A truly sumptuous, textured and covetable collection from Peter Philips, who can’t put a foot wrong. We are lusting after the limited edition eye shadow quad featuring quilted buttons with cc detail and pure pigment colour. Can you imagine anything more divine? Nails are also a feature in cassis tones with a hint of sparkle and a deliciously wicked name: Malice.

4. Tom Ford The Fall 2012 collection is decadence and high voltage glamour. Retro shades of hot pink and emerald sit along side demure floral pinks and lavender.

Forget ingénue, I’m all about wild and exotic temptress and have not been seen without my magenta-rose lipstick and come hither emerald eyes. This is a limited edition collection too. RUN.

5. Dior Grand Bal Collection
Bold, smoke, silver and gold offset by ruby red lips spell pure glamour. Dior knows a thing or two about making a statement and this year’s collection is no exception. Our pick is the Palette Grand Bal featuring a silver and gold eyeshadow, mini blush in a berry shade and shimmering lipgloss. This multi-purpose palette works back with any makeup you have in your bag and just adds shimmer and instant glamification.

6. Burberry Beauty – Vintage Gold
Always drawing inspiration from the fashion and accessories collection, Burberry Beauty launches their collectable and chic, Christmas offering. I am mad for the limited edition Beauty Charm that features a solid Lip glow in a subtle nude pink gloss (chic and discreet) presented in a tasseled gunmetal charm.
