It has been a sad week in Hollywood history with news of Elizabeth Taylor passing away becoming public late Wednesday. It’s not all tragic news though, Rachel Zoe welcomed a baby boy just last night and, locally, the Prix de marie claire Awards were held last night to celebrate Australian fashion and beauty.
Iconic Actress Elizabeth Taylor Dies
On Wednesday the 23rd of March, Elizabeth Taylor sadly passed away at age 79. The quintessential star died from severe congestive heart failure after revealing in that she had heart failure and being hospitalised for the condition in February of this year.
Elizabeth Taylor was one of Hollywood’s greats and will remain a style icon in all our eyes forever. Her mysterious, dark looks left her to be considered one of the most beautiful women in the world. Famous for her incredible jewellery collection and the husbands who gifted them, her grace, charm, acting and as being one of the earliest celebrities to rally in the fight against AIDS, there is no doubt Taylor will be missed by many.
An intimate funeral was held on Thursday at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale Calif where Michael Jackson was also buried. The service was an exclusive, family matter but a public service in her honour is expected to be held at a later date.
Rest in Peace, Elizabeth Taylor. You will forever be remembered and admired.
Rachel Zoe and Rodger Berman Welcome Baby Boy
As one like is taken, another is given and we are pleased to announce that celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe gave birth to a boy just last night at LA’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre.
Zoe and her husband named their son Skylar Morrison Berman and made a joint statement saying, “Mom and Dad literally could not be happier or more in love with their son!” The pair also shared the news on Twitter, telling fans, “Thank you all so much for your love! [Rodger] and I couldn’t be happier with little Skyler Morrison in our arms… he is everything XoRZ”
We can’t wait to see what Rachel dresses Skylar in; we’re sure he’s going to be one seriously stylish kid and perhaps a match made in fashion heaven for the adorable Suri Cruise!
Prix de marie claire Awards
Australia’s elite gathered at Fox Studios last night for a glam ceremony hosted by marie claire editor/publisher Jackie Frank. The red carpet was swimming with stars such as Megan Gale, Sophie Monk, Lara Bingle and more along with designers such as Collette Dinnigan, Dion Lee, Josh Goot, Kit Willow and so many more.
The evening was arranged to honour some of the best designers in Sydney with Rescu. resident Glamour Expert Alex Perry taking out the Readers Choice Best Australian Designer award.
It was not just about fashion though; the Beauty Awards were also announced with some of RESCU’s favourite brands taking out the big mentions.
