Elle Macpherson Intimates Launches Body Collection
After years of beautiful, sensual lingerie, Elle Macpherson Intimates has launched a new range: The Body Collection.
And this time it’s all about practicality and affordability.
The Body range has shifted focus from lace and peek-a-boo cuts to “fit, performance and silhouette,” said Elle this week, and it looks to be considerably sleeker and more pared-back than her usual aesthetic.
The range is in four parts. The Body Boost is for adding a bit of oomph, The Body Natural goes without lining to fit the body more closely, The Body Smooth eliminates lines with an invisible silhouette, and The Body Fit is more sporty.
However, they aren’t entirely slick and clean – there’s still a little lace overlay to make the pieces feel special.
50-year-old Elle has been incredibly enthusiastic about branching out into more affordable, everyday lingerie.
According to her, it’s all about feeling ‘effortless’: “When a woman enters a room I notice her silhouette; the strength, form and most importantly the presence behind it,” she said. “I love my tribe of women to feel confident and be themselves, effortlessly sexy.”
The range won’t break the bank, either, starting at $14.95 for briefs and $39.95 for bras, and is stocked at both DJs and Myer.

Alexander Wang x H&M Launches At Coachella
It’s just been announced as the big collaboration for the year – and now it’s had its official debut party.
Where? Hipster music festival Coachella, of course.
The collaboration mounted a VIP-exclusive launch party, with guests like Kate Bosworth, Florence Welch, Jared Leto and Iggy Azalea, and the celeb guests were all over their favourite New York designer.
Iggy in particular was delighted, because according to her, Wang only sends her dresses “the day of” big events and she “can never get her big butt in them!”
Wang is the first American designer to ever collaborate with H&M, and the fashionista crowd is already predicting that the line will sell out within minutes. He’s famous for his clean NY hipster lines, uses of leather and athletic-inspired gear, and pared-back aesthetic.
Alas, there were no sneak peeks of the designs themselves- all the attendees came straight from the famously hippie music festival grounds, with Emmy Rossum even sporting a floral headdress.
However, the style of the event itself – a 1950s block party with vintage-style snacks like Oreos and grilled cheese – indicates that the collection might have a hint of whimsy.
And considering the party was nearly shut down by the fire department, we can guess that this collection is going to be red-hot.

John Galliano Won’t Be Joining Oscar De La Renta
It was supposed to be the next part of John Galliano’s big comeback.
But now it looks like he won’t be joining Oscar De La Renta’s atelier after all.
News broke late last year that the designer, who’s been a recluse since his trial for hate speech in France, was being given a ‘temporary studio residency’ with De La Renta in New York.
Fashion insiders thought it spelled redemption: if Galliano couldn’t go back to Dior or forge out on his own, a consultancy with an old friend might be the best fit.
But now it looks like it’s all fallen apart – over money – and we know not because of the official bibles of fashion gossip, Vogue or Womens Wear Daily, but because people are whispering to Page Six in New York.
“The team at Oscar were not willing to put up the money to pay for the design team John needed,” sniffed the anonymous source. “Money was the biggest factor which held up the negotiation, and they couldn’t reach an agreement.”
The source went on to add, of course, that “John and Oscar remain very good friends” and that “John is grateful that Oscar gave him a second chance.”
It’s unclear where the leak has come from – Galliano’s team or Oscar’s – but we’re willing to bet money that Galliano is feeling frustrated about being back at square one.
What do you think should be the next move for John Galliano: embrace obscurity, find another friend, or perhaps something different altogether?

How To Get The Best Looks From The MTV Movie Awards
We were all in for a surprise this year: the 2014 MTV Movie Awards red carpet was unusually classy, fashion-forward and chic.
Well, Rihanna did turn up in an Ulyana Sergeenko dressing gown and bustier, but special rules apply for her.
Rescu. has done a little hunting, and we’ve tracked down ways to get your favourite red carpet looks from the MTV Awards without a stylist and designers on speed dial. So rev up your credit cards…
Jessica Alba looked fresh and springlike in a Piece D’Anarchive crop top and Kenzo skirt, with some zebra Jimmy Choos to round things off. Pairing this ASOS skirt in bright yellow with this cream Nasty Gal Bustier will replicate the look for a fraction of the budget.
Lupita Nyong’o showed up in one of Karl’s crazy creations: a pencil-line skirt covered in multicolour paint splashes. The key to this look is keeping it simple: wear this Yumi Pencil Dress with plain, bright shoes and bright nail polish, add some lipstick and you’re done.
Shailene Woodley punked it up in an olive Balmain ensemble featuring the season’s hottest trend: a peek-a-boo triangular slice of midriff. This blue FCUK Leather Dress can let you feel like a hot young starlet too, but with a more widely flattering hue.
And then there was androgynous-style fave Ellen Page, making us all look bad in her tight leather trousers, sloppy chambray shirt and teal tie. A pair of Bec & Bridge leather trousers topped with a Topshop denim shirt will nail her style. If you’re not feeling brave enough to copy the tie, pop on a pair of Modcloth Suit & Bowtie shoes and you’ll be ready for the red carpet.
