Emma Watson stepped on to the Cannes Film Festival red carpet in a stunning monochrome Chanel Couture dress for the premiere of Sofia Coppola’s new film The Bling Ring in which she stars.
Ahead of the premiere Emma told media, “Harry Potter feels like such a long time ago; so much has happened in the last three or four years, but obviously it’s still very much present, it’s still being played in people’s living rooms. I’m not trying to run away from it… but it’s that I’ve had such an amazing three or four years having a chance to transform into new roles and work with new creative people.”
Watson plays Nicki in the film, a character based on Alexis Neiers, who starred in the reality series Pretty Wild and was considered the ring-leader of the real-life Bling Ring. Neiers has recently taken to Twitter to call the filmic adaptation of her life, “trashy and inaccurate.”
Coppola was quick to respond, telling BBC News, “It’s not a documentary, we made a move and I’m not too concerned with their reaction.”
The film’s debut was incredibly timely given that only two days ago it was revealed that Miranda Kerr was the latest celebrity revealed as one of the targets in the real-life Bling Ring theft heist back in 2010. The Victoria’s Secret model’s lingerie was stolen in the heist, which netted around US$3 million total.
The Bling Ring will hit Australian cinemas July 25.
Kate Bosworth has teamed up with TopShop for a whole new collection inspired by festival style.
To celebrate the launch, Topshop have revealed a short film titled, ‘The Road to Coachella’ which stars Bosworth and was directed by Michael Polish. Watch the film below.
Bosworth is one of the most-watched celebs at festivals where she is always seen looking boho-perfect in gorgeous boots and Michael Polish on her arm so she’s the perfect face for the campaign and we’re a little in love with this short.
Throughout this year’s Coachella, Bosworth road-tested some of the looks from the collection and we have no doubt her looks will inspire that of many a Splendour-goer this year.

Last night in New York City Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder, who recently made a public announcement about their split, had to fulfil the now-awkward duty of appearing on stage together for The CW Network’s upfront presentation.
The Vampire Diaries’ stars handled it all with class and proved that maybe they really will remain friends post-break-up. No easy feat after three years together we imagine!
And it seems CW love their Aussie stars! The event saw homegrown celebs like Phoebe Tonkin and Claire Holt who will both be starring in The Vampire Diaries spin-off The Originals, and Adelaide Kane who will star as Mary, Queen of Scots in Reign amongst others.
Following the presentation, CW released first-look trailers and clips from their upcoming line up including a clip from The Originals featuring the gorgeous Phoebe Tonkin. Watch it below.
