BEST DRESSED
6: Ginnifer Goodwin: Monique Lhuillier
This matches the carpet but in such an oh-so-stylish way. Brave, contemporary and textural. The pixie cut adds drama too…
5: Julianne Moore: Christian Dior
ALWAYS on pointe on the red carpet this acid bright full sleeved full skirted gown makes a powerful statement. Pair that with Julianne’s flame coloured do and Kapow!!! Fashion Moment!
4: Elisabeth Moss: Dolce & Gabbana
New do’ new you! This wouldn’t be everyone’s choice but the floral is divine and I love the unexpected detailing and flounce from the hip. Go Lissy!
3: Nicole Kidman: Anotnio Berardi
Cool, icy and elegant. This embellished sheath is perfection. It’s fresh and sexy and sooo appropriate. Well, it should be- Nic has had oodles of practice…
2: Jessica Pare: Custom Jason Wu
It’s a Mad Men Marathon on this year’s rug but this first timer absolutely nails this look. The hair and make up make my eye’s water it’s so perfect. What a way to introduce yourself…
1: January Jones: Zac Posen
Just pipping Jessica at the post is my eternal flame- January Jones. This to me is what your moment should be all about. Fit, silhouette and just the right amount of flesh. I love that it is whimsical but still very serious. She wins for me…
WORST DRESSED
6: Lena Dunham: Prada
I get where she was going, but Lena gets lost in this Navy Lace look. It is very fashion forward but I think it wears her… Michele Williams might have pulled it off?
5: Kristen Wiig: Balenciaga
I love it, just not on her and not for this event. It is too floaty and ethereal to pack any kind of punch. You are playing with the big gals now Kristen!
4: Julianna Margulies: Giambattista Valli
Such a stunning woman, such an awful choice. This dress is runway perfect, but fails to translate for me- another one that gets lost in the gown…
3: Emily Vancamp: J.Mendel
Lovely choice- if you’re Helen Mirren. Waaayyy too old for her- she should be rockin a much younger look in length and colour- the hair and make up doesn’t help either. Such a shame…Her and Kristen should have swapped?
2: Hayden Panettiere: Marchesa
Sari meets school social. It is the wrong fit and texture for her. I know where she was trying to go but this falls way short. Keep it fun and frivolous when you’re so young, plenty of time to dress like Glenn Close.
1: Ashley Judd:
Where does one start? At the top. That.Hair! Too much, too soon. Now Ashley was a stunning woman but I have to say is looking a little “done” for me- am I right ladies? And the Marilyn “Diamonds are A Girl’s Best Friend” Gown is a little unforgiving. It is a classic case of Red Carpet Overkill and Ashley murdered her look.
