Emmy Rossum eschews using a stylist, preferring to track down her favourite runway looks on her own and Claire Danes can’t resist a sale despite having some very fashionable friends.
The ‘Shameless’ star has an impressive two walk-in closets in her Hollywood home but says she has used her own contacts to help fill them.
She said, ”I surf the Web to see the runway shows and then figure out who the fashion publicists are and e-mail them myself.”
Emmy says she likes to experiment with her look but admits the risk doesn’t always come off.
The 25-year-old beauty says she once wore Swarovski crystals on her eyelids to a high-profile event in 2007 and has never lived the look down.
She told InStyle Hair, ”Anytime you Google ‘bad celebrity makeup,’ that comes up.
”I looked as if a tranny clown pooped on my eyes! But I think it’s good to take chances.”
Emmy also admitted she doesn’t get to dress up that much when she’s playing her ‘Shameless’ alter-ego Fiona Gallagher.
She said, ”It’s changed my thoughts on beauty because Fiona is not about perfection. She just looks real, and I think people find that beautiful.”
The ‘Homeland’ actress – who is married to actor Hugh Dancy – is a big fan of high-end fashion, and counts Narciso Rodriquez and Miuccia Prada among her friends.
She said, ”Naciso Rodriguez was my first fashion big brother. He’s made my wedding dress, which was wonderful. And we’re friends with Valentino, I mean, we are friends with him! I adore him. Christopher Bailey made Hugh’s wedding outfit and Miuccia Prada I’m friends with.”
Despite her friends in high places, Claire – who has previously been the spokesperson for Gucci accessories – admits she cannot stop herself from purchasing a bargain as soon as she sees one.
She said, ”I’m a sales slut. I’m just very seduced by a sale.’
The 32-year-old beauty has also revealed she is much more comfortable in ”sweatpants” than anything else.
She told ASOS magazine, ”It’s funny with jeans now, because if they don’t feel like a pair of sweatpants, I don’t have patience for them anymore! I think I’m becoming increasingly lazy.”
