Eva Longoria lets us in on her beauty secrets and her favourite cartoon villain, while NARS’s new colour range has been inspired by Pop Art maestro, Andy Warhol.
Eva Longoria’s main beauty secret is egg white omelettes. The ‘Desperate Housewives’ beauty admits she is terrified of plastic surgery and relies on an all natural regime to keep herself looking good.
She said,”I’m terrified of needles and knives. I saw those Discovery Channel shows with the operations. The sound of the chisel. Agh! No thank you. Egg white omelettes, some exercise and some eye cream is fine for now for me!”
Eva also revealed her mother, sisters and fictional cartoon character Cruella De Vil were her female role models when growing up.
She explained to Britian’s OK! magazine, “My role models growing up were my mom and my sisters. We had one TV with three channels and we never went to the movies. I didn’t even know what a movie star was. The first time I saw a film was ‘Rambo’ and obviously I didn’t relate. But I remember seeing ‘101 Dalmations’ and thinking Cruella De Vil was the coolest chick in the entire world.”
Nars is to launch a new range of colour cosmetics inspired by Andy Warhol.
The limited edition collection, entitled Nars Andy Warhol, will be created by founder Francois Nars under licence with The Andy Warhol Foundation, and it is said to evoke the cool, image-rich, character-laden world of the late commercial illustrator.
The project will be launched in the US in October and other parts of the world in November and is thought to be the make-up brand’s largest strategic collaboration so far. T
he company has previously worked with fashion muse Daphne Guinness on a campaign – which saw her wearing a purple eyeshadow inspired by and named after her – citing her as the brand’s ideal ambassador.
Francois explained, “She fits the image of the brand so well. She’s very creative and elegant and is a chameleon. And she really loves make-up – the whole process of it. Any makeup artist dreams of having someone like that as a muse.”
NARS isn’t the first brand to gain their 15 minutes of fame from the legendary artist, Dom Perignon and New York-based perfumery Bond No.9 have been inspired by the Warhol’s colour bursts and makeup giant MAC is also planning to release their Warhol inspired collection this October.
