Philips Avent have conduced a survey of women aged between 25 and 34 who had experienced expressing at work in a variety of different workplace environments. Read the surprising results below…
KEY RESULTS FROM SURVEYED MUMS
• 78% expressed at work for no more than 6 months
• The majority of mums that participated in the Expressing At Work Survey said that an additional room provided for expressing would be a major improvement
• Only 39% of working mums surveyed felt comfortable expressing at work
• Only 29% were offered a comfortable and private space by their employer
• Almost all 422 of surveyed mums did not have to compensate work activities while expressing
• 33% of surveyed mums did not feel comfortable talking about expressing at work with their employer
• 64% of surveyed mums did not formerly tell a colleague or employer about their wishes to express at work
• The majority of the 422 working mums that were surveyed, and who expressed at work, stored their breast milk in the communal work office fridge
