Fashions on the Field 2012 kicked off yesterday with famous faces, including Myer racing ambassadors Rebecca Judd, Kris Smith and Alison Saville, Fashions on the Field hosts Fifi Box and Jeff Banks, renowned milliner Philip Treacy plus Swisse ambassadors Ashley Hart and Jessica McNamee, all trackside to herald the beginning of this year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival.

Celebrating 50 years of Fashions on the Field at Flemington, Australia’s largest outdoor fashion event has now returned to the two-story Myer Fashions on the Field enclosure at the Victoria Racing Club on the famous Flemington front lawn.

In a special appearance 69-year-old Margaret Gaudion (nee Wood), who was crowned the very first winner of Fashions on the Field 50 years ago, returned to Flemington to mark the event that changed her life.
Celebrity chef George Calombaris was also on hand to talk through the menu he has designed especially for the Swisse marquee, ensuring all ingredients were sourced locally here in Australia.
The Myer Fashions on the Field state finalists representing WA, SA, QLD, NSW and TAS, and the Online People’s Choice Award Winner were also in attendance, donning their winning outfits in which they competed for the Women’s Racewear National Final.

The Victorian winner will be selected on Oaks Day ahead of the National final.
