Vogue hosts Fashion’s Night Out in Sydney
Sydney brought fashion lovers together last night for Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out. The annual event has only gotten bigger and better and this year Sydney topped it all off. The event is held around the world, from New York to Paris but the highlight in Sydney this year was at David Jones in Elizabeth Street which became a party house as people came together to mingle with designers and stylists, shop for discounts and enjoy the talent of Australian fashion.
Australia’s darling Megan Gale, held her own workshop where she presented her new swimwear label, and Camilla and Marc headed in store to present this seasons hottest looks. Of course RESCU’s own Alex Perry headed in-store at David Jones to conduct a workshop on his current spring collection, which was a highlight of the night.
Some of the great discounts available included up to 50% on brands such as Calvin Klein, Zanerobe, Diesel and Ksubi for the guys and Scanlan and Theodore, Lisa Ho and Willow for the women. It was shopping mayhem, but a great night presented by Vogue- we look forward to even better things for 2011!
Karl Lagerfeld cancels Paris Fashion Week and turns to the masses
The king of fashion, Karl Lagerfeld, has cancelled his upcoming show at Paris fashion week, much to the disappointment of many fashion industry leaders. However, for us it could be a good thing, as Karl is branching into a ready-to-wear range to be sold primarily online.
Karl will present the S/S 2011 collection to buyers will feature women’s wear and, wait for it, jeans and sportswear! We are waiting with our fingers and toes crossed for the launch, which we hope will be available online for Australia!
